I wear a lot of hats; I travel plan magical adventures, I entertain children while wearing tiaras, and I also restore historical pianos! This week our shop finished my very first piano (which I named “Rose”)! Ackerman’s Piano has been such a gift to me since the pandemic! They allow me to continue to pursue my other career goals, take time for self care, and have been a financial backbone that I’ve needed in these difficult times. When I first arrived at this shop it was just two of us working hard to complete Rose. My first task was to sand the harp (the heart of the piano) and help create the color for the new gilding. From there I’ve helped to clean, regulate, and level her keys, adjust and regulate her hammers, clean and renew her dampers, and clean and condition her case. It’s been nearly 6 months since I started and yesterday we finally placed her lid back on and sent her home. This beautiful rosewood square grand piano is now back home at the @steelecountyhistoricalsociety ! I will miss seeing her behind my work bench, but I am excited to start sanding my next harp! Congratulations Rose on your restoration! ✨🎶🌹🎶✨ #projectcomplete #ackermanspiano #squaregrandpiano #piano #pianoresoration #historicalpiano #steelecountyhistoricalsociety #travelwithaprincess #travelprincessashley
